Fat River Flowers is Marguerite Green (and her dog, Mae). Marguerite went to Louisiana State University for Horticulture and has been growing on and managing sustainable southern farms for over six years. With a love for the shapes and personality locally grown flowers lend to a bouquet Fat River floral design strives to compliment natural shape and color-- never tame it. You can find us on parcels of land throughout the city. Our farm land totals to a little under and acre, but you won't believe what we can do with it.

Our Story

We cut our teeth growing wedding flowers as a favor for a friend in 2010. Committing to a large scale wedding before we knew what we were doing. This reformed vegetable farmer was instantly hooked on flowers and has never looked back since. Starting on five acres outside of Baton Rouge, Louisiana we soon decided to move back to our hometown- New Orleans. Now Fat River has designed all over the Gulf South for weddings, photo spreads, magazines and private parties. Though urban growing tends to be more parceled out than it's rural counterpart it is just as rewarding to turn urban spaces into productive, healthy flower gardens.

Why should you choose locally grown flowers? These articles say it best. Fat River Flowers is not officially certified organic but follows the same rigorous standards that organic flower farms do. Feel free to ask us about our practices. We're confident that we're growing flowers in a way that is healthy for our world and your table.
